In 1907, Master Machinist Julius C. Busch founded the firm bearing his name to provide machine shop services located in Milwaukee's early industrial center. Busch developed close working relationships with pioneer industrialists, including an especially close friendship with Evinrude who rented him space in the shop where he designed and developed the original outboard marine engine. Busch assisted Evinrude with the manufacture of parts, assembly, and promotion of his wonderful invention. Today, OMC-Evinrude is a world leading name in outboard marine engines.
In 1992, the company streamlined its corporate identity from J.C. Busch Co., Inc. to Busch Precision Inc., emphasizing the nature of its services and products with a focus on precision machining, machine repair, and its line of precision tooling equipment.
In 2014, Busch acquired certain assets including two lines of business from Maintenance Service Corp. (MSC), formerly based in West Allis, Wis. This acquisition included the company's machine tool repair and CNC retrofitting operations. MSC had been a quality leader in the machine tool remanufacture, machine tool retrofit, and machine tool service business since 1951. Read more about MSC's history and unique qualifications.
In 2015, Busch acquired Circle Tool Grinding, Inc. a company specializing in the grinding of tools and special tooling.
Today, with a workforce made up of highly skilled machinists, engineers, technicians, and support personnel, Busch Precision is poised to become the industry leader in complex machining and maintenance and repair services.
